Devwah Whaley Receives Multiple School Offers

February 1, 2015

Devwah Whaley, a Bermuda-born American football player who has been called “one of the more talented athletes in the 2016 class,” has received offers from 14 schools, including Baylor, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Oklahoma, TCU, Texas Tech, SMU, and Texas.

Coming with a long history of excellence in sports, particularly track and field, Mr. Whaley’s physical abilities are second-to-none in his age group.

A story from Scout.com says, “The talented junior, who plays running back and safety for the Jaguars, has two visits planned in the spring, to A&M on January 25th and to Baylor on January 31st.”

Compilation of Devwah Whaley highlights:

“Listed as an athlete first, RB/S second on most recruiting services, Whaley has no intention of switching positions at the next level. It appears that the colleges going after him agree that his future lies on offense, with the Aggies, Bears, and Longhorns wanting him on that side of the ball.

“Whaley’s film isn’t hard to dissect. He’s fast. His elusiveness and speed might mean that he runs 50 yards to gain only 20, but he’s still running that 50 yards faster than anyone else on the field.

“Overall, it’s easy to see why Whaley is being hounded by almost every major program in the country. He’s going to be successful wherever he goes, but it looks like Texas hasn’t made him a priority quite yet.”
