BFRS Extinguish Small Fire At Purvis Primary

At approximately 4:36pm today [Apr 11], the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service [BFRS] responded to a report of a confirmed structural fire on the premise of Purvis Primary in Warwick.

Fire Service spokesperson Sergeant Jamal Albuoy said, ” “BRFS responded to the incident with appliances from our Hamilton Station [DC1] and Port Royal Station [West 1]. Each appliance was manned with 4 personnel. On our arrival, smoke and flame was seen emitting from a small structure, which was fully involved.

“The building measured approximately 12 feet x 12 feet and is located in the vicinity of the Infant block. The building is currently being used for storing various items.

“Four men donned in Breathing Apparatus quickly extinguished the blaze using 1 1/2″ hose line and water. At the time, no one was injured and the incident is currently under investigation to determine the cause of the fire.”
