Pechakucha Night To Be Held In St George’s

November 14, 2015

The thirteenth edition of Pechakucha Bermuda will take place on Friday, November 20th at the RAA Club in St. Georges.

This is the first time Pechkucha will take place in St. George’s, and is also the first time it has partnered with BEDC. The organizers who volunteer their time to bring these events to various venues all over Bermuda are Nicky Gurret, Aideen Ratteray Pryse and Najib Chentouf.

Nicky Gurret says, “We are extremely excited about holding Pechakucha Bermuda at the RAA Club and bringing the event to the East End of the island for the very first time.

“Many East Enders have been asking us when will there be a Pechakucha at the East End and finally there will be one, so we are expecting a large crowd”.

Pechakucha Edition 13

As November is entrepreneurs month, and BEDC have teamed up with Pechakucha Bermuda, the organizers have invited a variety of entrepreneurs and creative thinkers to present entrepreneurial ideas

Erica Smith, Director of BEDC said, “BEDC is extremely excited to be partnering with PechaKucha Bermuda in holding PechaKucha Night Volume 13 during the 2015 Global Entrepreneurship Week [GEW].

“The format of 20 images for 20 seconds each with no pausing or going back is intriguing and makes for an interesting evening.

“GEW is a worldwide celebration of entrepreneurship and so I am particularly excited that the theme will focus on entrepreneurship in the creative industries as a way to highlight how creatives contribute to the Island’s economy.

“I am also pleased that PechaKucha Bermuda makes a concerted effort to hold its events in the Island’s workmen’s and social clubs.

“It brings a new dynamic to these institutions and highlights that they are still relevant. For a fun, entertaining and enlightening evening, I would encourage everyone to come out and experience PechaKucha.”

There will be refreshments and dinner available for purchase at very reasonable costs. The event is free however donations will be gladly accepted. Doors open at 6pm with the presentations beginning at 6:30pm.
