England Team For Bermuda 10k Announced
England Athletics have selected four athletes to contest the Bermuda 10k on 16th January, according to a story in the England Athletics.
The story said, “The England Athletics Team comprises medallists from the England Athletics 10k Championships held at the Age UK Leeds Abbey Dash on 15th November.
“Champion [pictured] Charlotte After [Club: Cardiff AC, Coach: James Thie] and silver medallist Faye Fullerton [Club: Havering, coach Georgina Fullerton] are joined by Men’s sliver medallist Jacob Allen [Club: Rugby & Northampton, Coach: Mick Woods] and bronze medallist Nick Swinburn [Club: Morpeth, Coach: Lindsay Dunn].
“England Athletics value the importance of competitive road running opportunities for athletes in preparation for the 2018 Commonwealth Games Team long distance events, e.g. the 10,000m and Marathon.
“The Bermuda 10k presents an opportunity for the England Team to be highly competitive in an event that boasts impressive course records, held by the great Grete Waitz [31:41] and Britain’s Geoff Smith [28:14]! Team Coach Geoff James will also discuss the National Coach Development Programme with colleagues from the Bermuda National Athletics Association at a symposium linked in to the Bermuda Marathon Weekend of which the 10k is part.
