Fire Service Extinguishes Vehicle Fire In Sandys
At approximately 11:19pm on Tuesday night [March 29], the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to a report of a vehicle fire at Overplus Lane in Sandys.
Fire Service spokesperson Sgt. Russann Francis stated that the report was of “one van involved in fire.”
“The Fire Service responded to the incident with one vehicle and 4 firefighters. On arrival, the duty crew found one van which was fully involved in fire, in the front cab area.
“Attempts were made to extinguish the fire prior to our arrival; however, it took two firefighters dressed in breathing apparatus and operating one 1 ½” hose line to fully extinguish the blaze.
“There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.”
