49-Year-Old Arrested After Motorcycle Collision

[Updated] A 49-year-old Warwick man was injured in a motorcycle collision last night in Middle Road, Store Hill Smiths parish area.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 10:20pm on Tuesday, March 7th police and first responders were dispatched to a reported serious single vehicle motorcycle collision in the Middle Road, Store Hill Smith’s parish area.

“Details are limited at this time. However the rider, believed to be a 49 year old Warwick man, was injured and taken to hospital via ambulance for treatment.

“The extent of his injuries is unknown at this time, but an update on his condition will be provided in due course.

“Inquiries continue and any witnesses should contact the main police telephone number 295-0011.”

Update 8.42am: “At last check 7am today [March 8th] the 49 year old man injured in a reported serious single vehicle motorcycle collision in the Middle Road, Store Hill Smith’s parish area around 10:20pm Tuesday was recovering in stable condition on a general ward at the hospital.

“It now appears that he was riding along Store Hill when the crash occurred, near the junction with Middle Road.

“He was later arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.

“Inquiries continue and any witnesses should still contact the main police telephone number 295-0011.”
