Simons Brothers Destined For Dockyard

July 27, 2018

The multi-talented Simons brothers are gearing up to headline the next installment of a unique weekly event at Dockyard.

Hundreds of people turned out for the opening of Destination Dockyard last Monday to savour the food and entertainment on offer on the North Lawn.

“We love playing in Dockyard,” said Simons Brothers Band member Jonathan. “There is always a good atmosphere and from what we saw of the event on Monday there’s going to be a pretty big crowd. It will be a lot of fun.”

Jonathan Simons, aged 18, has been playing the guitar since he was six-years-old, Solomon Simons, 16, has been playing the piano since he was four and Leonardo, 12, has been playing the drums since he was aged five.

Stephanie Rodill, the Marketing and Events Manager for the West End Development Corporation, said the first night of Destination Dockyard had been a big success, attracting hundreds of visitors and locals.

“It has been absent for a few years but there was a lot of demand to revive the event which showcases Bermudian talent and creativity,” added Ms Rodill.

The event is being run by PinkSand Entertainment which won an RFP put out by WEDCO earlier this year. They put together a plan for an Interactive Village on the North Lawn which features a Theatre by the Sea with a stage to host DJs and live bands, a Dockyard Deli area, a sports area and a technology playground.

The event takes place every Monday from 7pm to 10pm until September 24 with additional dates in October being Saturday the 6, Monday October 15, Sunday October 21, Friday October 26 and Wednesday October 31.
