“This year’s venue, Baileys Bay, is such a compact and unique venue that lends itself so well to cricket so we’re encouraging people who mightn’t have gone to an Eastern County game before to come along to experience it first-hand.

“No doubt this year’s series will mirror the excitement of last year’s series as well as the atmosphere that makes Eastern County so special.”

“This year Digicel has underlined its commitment to cricket by also sponsoring the Bermuda Cricket Associations U12 Youth Summer Series and hopefully we’ll see the next generation of Eastern County players emerge from this.”

Lt/Col Edward Lamb, Vice-President of the Eastern County Cricket Association, said, “I would like to thank Digicel for their continued sponsorship of what we believe is the most important cricket competition in Bermuda. We’re very grateful for that continued support as it has proven to be very successful and a very beneficial relationship.

“Eastern Counties has a legacy and cultural heritage dating back to 1904 and it has its’ success rooted in two communities getting together and over the years we’ve been able to sustain that community feel among the four clubs. Over the years the competitiveness has grown which makes it that much more special than other competitions. League Cricket has its place but doesn’t compare to Eastern Counties.”

“Entry to each game is $15 for adults and $5 for children. Fixtures include Game 1 [Baileys Bay V Cleveland] on July 21, Game 2 [Winner Game 1 V Flatts] on August 18, and Game 3 [Winner Game 2 V St Davids] on September 1.”
