Bermuda Sailors Begin Competing In Argentina
Bermuda Optimist sailors Rachael Betschart, Magnus Ringsted, Nicole Stovell and Christian Ebbin have started competing in the Semana de Mar del Plata Optimist Sailing Regatta in Argentina.
A total of 249 sailors from around the world have taken to the waters looking for the title.
Betschart finished the first day in 46th place with 48 points. She finished the first race in 8th place that was followed by a 24th place finish, before closing out with a 16th place finish in the third and final race.
Ringsted finished the day in 60th with 55 points. He crossed the line 37th in the first race of the day, before finishing 16th in the second ace, he would then finish the third and final race in 2nd place.
Stovell would come off the water in 67th place with a total of 60 points. She finished the first race in 30th place, before finishing 20th in the second race. In the final race, Stovell crossed the line in 10th place.
Ebbin ended the day in 105th place with 80 points. He started well with a 5th place finish in the first race, then finished 10th in the second race, and closed out with a Did Not Compete in the third and final race of the day.
