Covid-19: People’s Pharmacy Amend Hours

March 20, 2020

People’s Victoria Street and People’s ACW will amend their operating hours effective Saturday, March 21st, and the first hour of shopping on Wednesday and Sundays will be exclusively for our at risk population such as seniors, immune compromised and expectant mothers.

A statement from the company [PDF] said, “The management and staff of People’s Pharmacy want to thank you for being patient as we navigate these uncertain times. We recognize that, in order to ensure the health and wellbeing of the general public, we need to make immediate operational changes.

“The environment in which we operate has changed rapidly as a result of the novel coronavirus COVID-19. Our pharmacists and support staff are on the front line, ensuring our customers get knowledgeable advice, critically important medication and supplies, and the best customer service possible.

“People’s Victoria Street and People’s ACW [Acute Care Wing at KEMH] will amend operating hours effective Saturday, March 21st. Both People’s locations will now open Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 7:00PM; Saturday and Sunday, our hours will be from 10:00AM to 6:00PM.

“As an added safety precaution, the first hour of shopping on Wednesday [8:00AM - 9:00AM] and Sundays [10:00AM - 11AM] will be exclusively for our at risk population: seniors, immune compromised and expectant mothers. We ask you, the general public, to help us protect our most vulnerable and respect the dedicated shopping times on Wednesdays and Sundays.

“Please read the attached list of suggestions to help ease the wait times and enforce the social distance policies in place:

“We appreciate your cooperation throughout these challenging times. Crowd control measures and social distancing practices will be implemented in both our locations for the protection of our staff and to support the governments mandated requirements.

“We ask customers to make credit or debit card transactions whenever possible to reduce cash handling. In an effort to prioritize prescription call in orders and health related questions, we ask that you please leave our lines clear by emailing any queries related to in stock items to our general mailbox: info@peoples.bm.

“Our People’s ACW location has a much smaller footprint and a more at risk customer base; as a result, a maximum of 12 customers will be allowed in at a time, under a strict one in, one out policy. We ask all our customers to be considerate and as efficient as possible when visiting our locations.

“Thank you for being loyal customers of the People’s Group of Companies, and for helping us to do our part to protect the health of each of us.”
