Squash Event Postponed Due To Covid-19
The 2020 Bermuda Squash Open -- which was scheduled to be held next week with over 30 international players — has been postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Bermuda Squash Racquets Association said, “After much discussion with Bermuda Government, the PSA and with members of our own BSRA Committee we have decided to postpone the 2020 PSA Bermuda Open scheduled to be held next week.
“Guidance from health experts appears to increasingly suggest we operate under the assumption that the virus will continue to spread and that social distancing will be one of the most effective ways to combat the real threat to members, families and friends.
“Our event would generate many potential impacts for the PSA Players, BSRA Members and staff, player hosts & families, spectators and anyone associated with the event. The risks in running the event at this time make it impossible to reach any other decision but to postpone until later in 2020.
“The BSRA would like to thank the Member donors that make the PSA Bermuda Open possible, the BSRA Members set to host players for stepping up, the PSA and its players for their patience and understanding with this decision.
“Ticket Refunds: Members with tickets on ETAB accounts will have their accounts refunded. Persons with tickets purchased by credit card or with cash need to visit the club with the tickets and card used to receive a refund.”
