June 11, 2010

Yesterday [June 10] was the third day of the 45th International Light Tackle Tournament [ILTT] hosted by the Bermuda Anglers Club. The teams had considerably greater success then the day prior, which saw very limited fish being brought in. During the time that Bernews was at the weigh-in, four of the six boats came in, weighing in a total of fourteen fish. For a full daily report see here on the Bermuda Anglers Club website.

Each 3-person team fishes on a different charter boat each of the 4 fishing days, which is decided at the captain’s meeting on the Sunday evening. They follow IGFA rules, using a points rather than the factor scoring system. Minimum weights are equal to or greater than line test with the exception of tuna, which is 18lbs. Most of the fishing is done at anchor with chumming.

The general public is welcome to come down to Spanish Point Boat Club today [June 11] to see the final weigh which will start at around 4.30pm.
