Front Street: Ambulance Collides With Truck

A section of Front Street is presently blocked off following an accident involving an ambulance and a truck. The ambulance has sustained damage to the front, with the truck appearing to have received very minimal damage. The Police are presently blocking the portion of the road, and diverting traffic. Bystanders tell us the truck was pulling out of the dock area when it collided with the ambulancee. We will update this post with official information from the Police when we receive it.

Update June 27: Official information from Police:

Around 3pm on Friday, Police attended a reported damage only road traffic collision on Front Street in the City of Hamilton near the junction with King Street involving an ambulance and a truck. It appears that the ambulance was traveling west on Front Street responding to an emergency call with its lights & siren activated when the truck attempted to exit from the dock area on to Front Street and the vehicles collided. The drivers of the vehicles were not injured. The truck received relatively minor rear end damage while the ambulance received moderate front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
