Middle Road Accident: Man Taken to Hospital

A traffic accident on Middle Road Southampton at approximately 1pm today (June 23) has seen a bike rider be transported to hospital. We understand that the rider collided with a car, and was transported to hospital with what appears to be injuries to his left leg after initially been attended to by EMTs at the scene. We will update this post as soon as we receive the official information from the Police.

Around 1:30pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Southampton involving a jeep and a motorcycle. It appears that the jeep was exiting a driveway and the motorcycle was traveling east on Middle Road when the vehicles collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 23 year old Warwick man, sustained leg injuries. He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. The driver of the jeep, a 34 year old Southampton woman, was not injured. The motorcycle received extensive front end damage while the jeep received moderate damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact PC Scott Roberts on 295-0011
