Attempt on Yankee: Anthony Swan Found Guilty

22-year-old Anthony Swan was found guilty this afternoon [Sept 16] in Supreme Court in relation to the December 16th 2009 attempted shooting of Troy “Yankee” Rawlins outside the C&R Discount Store on Court Street at approximately 10:30am that morning. 

Mr. Swan, of Cut Road in St. George’s, was found guilty of a number of charges including a string of firearm possession offences. He was remanded in custody and will be sentenced at a later date.

Mr Rawlins, 47, was subsequently fatally shot in a separate incident eight months later in August 2010, for which another man has been charged. During Mr Swan’s trial Mr. Rawlins previous statements were read into the record.
