Bermuda Wins 2 Medals in Guadeloupe – Again!

October 24, 2010

Flora-Duffy1-0x200Bermuda`s female cyclists have outdone themselves at the Elite Caribbean Cycling Championships in Guadeloupe, picking up another two medals minutes ago this morning (Oct 24).

Flora Duffy (pictured) won the Gold Medal, and Nicole Mitchell won the Bronze, repeating their wins from yesterday. The two female cyclists have now won four medals between them. Yesterday they medaled in the Time Trials, and today they medaled in the Women’s Road Race.

Flora Duffy now has the distinction of being undefeated in the 2010 Caribbean Championships – as she picked up the two top honours in the womens division.

Nicole Mitchell`s two bronze medals are impressive by any standard, but more so as she is making her first international appearance for Bermuda.

Ms Duffy and Ms Mitchell were the two-strong Bermuda female cycling team, and they managed to pick up 66% of the available medals in the female division between just the two of them.

(These results are just in, the men are racing as we speak, and we will bring you those results when we receive them)

Update: Men’s races have finished, and we don’t have the full placings as of yet, however none were top three. Bermuda does come home with four medals in total.
