Witness Appeal: Fatal Traffic Accident
The Bermuda Police have issued a new appeal for witnesses to a collision that killed a pedestrian 7 months ago.
41-year-old Andre Hendrickson died after being struck by a car while he was walking along North Shore Road early one April morning. His identity remained a mystery for approximately 48 hours after his death.
Mr Hendrickson was a keen sportsman who excelled in both football and cricket. The father of four worked for Government as a boat pilot.
The driver of the car that struck Mr Hendrickson was initially arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and causing death by dangerous driving, however he subsequently passed the alco-analyser test. The driver, a 27 year old Hamilton Parish man, was released on Police bail back in April.
The Police said this afternoon that “The investigation into the fatal road traffic collision that occurred around 1:15am Saturday, April 17th 2010 on North Shore Road in Devonshire near the Mid Atlantic Boat Club resulting in the death of 41 year old Andre Hendrickson of Southampton is ongoing.”
“Police are continuing to appeal for anyone who may have any information about this incident to contact PC Shem Obeius on 295-0011 or Inspector Steven Lightbourne on 299-4507.”
