I just love the way these traffic reports are written. People are always ‘colliding’ with something. A wall, a utility pole, a hedge or something else that cannot move. It is written as if the stationary object was somehow partially responsible for the crash. I believe the better word would be ‘crash’ into whatever the stationary object is. is it just me, or does not coliding with something imply that the other object was MOVING also. I understand ‘coliding’ with another vehicle but not a wall.

    Just sayin…

The percentage of accidents in Bermuda compared to the amount of cars on the road must be one of the highest is the world. Is it because.

    1. Bermudians as people just can’t drive
    2. The driving test is not good enough
    3. Too much alcohol
    4. Using a cell phone or texting

Just think if Bermudians had to drive in places like Paris, or the German high speed highways.

    • Triangle Drifter says:

All good points. I wonder how many Bermudians rent cars when they travel? How many students overseas have cars? How many who have homes overseas have cars? How many of all of those have had serious accidents? One would think that if they did it might make local news. Maybe not.

I have driven a 55′ long vehicle something like 70,000 miles across the US & Canada in the past 4 years. I see more acts of stupidity on Bermuda roads in less than a week than in all those miles in North America.

      “You can’t fix stupid”

445am? Didn’t want to get taken off the road for a year for DUI so they ran away. Simples

  7. Taxpayer says:

Leave your car? The police should keep it and sell it to pay for the damage to the walls. I’m sure the insurance company will not pay for the car since the driver left it. Dumb ass. Also, I drive and have owned more cars in the U.S. then I have in Bermuda (where I have driven a Taxi and a truck all day) and I see more stupid things done on Bermuda’s roads than in the U.S. However, our driving test is harder (both written and on road) than the U.S.’s.

    Memo to all non-drivers:
Please stay off of harbour road.
