Uganda Cricket Captain: “Battle Of Our Lives”
Uganda’s Coach has spoken about his side’s game against Bermuda which just got underway, saying: “We are going to put our lives on the line against Bermuda. It is the battle of our lives.”
Today’s [Apr.11] match will be Bermuda’s third game of the ICC World Cricket League Division Two Tournament taking place in Dubai. Uganda is going into the game having lost their first two games, while Bermuda goes in 1-1, having beaten Hong Kong while losing to Papua New Guinea.
Coach Conrad Shukri has dropped Akbar Baig and appointed Davis Arinaitwe as Uganda’s Team Captain ahead of today’s ICC Divison II League game against Bermuda.
Speaking on the game against Bermuda with Uganda’s “Daily Monitor”, Coach Shukri said, “We will be playing in the same stadium where we lost to Namibia. So we might include another seamer (Daniel Ruyange or Ronald Ssemanda) because it has seamer-friendly conditions. But other than that, I am going to stick with the batsmen that have been playing. Chopping and changing the side is not going to help now.”
“We are going to put our lives on the line against Bermuda. It is the battle of our lives,” he said.
