UBP MP Charlie Swan Meets With UK MP
UBP MP Charlie Swan met with Dan Rogerson, the Liberal Democrat MP for North Cornwall, on Friday 24th June to establish a relationship and discuss matters of mutual interest.
Mr Swan said, “Dan Rogerson represents some 70 parishes in North Cornwall, comprising over 55,000 constituents. Cornwall is the western most county in the UK, and is physically the closest to our island.”
“Being largely a rural area, as well as a favourite holiday destination for Britons – there are many similarities between Cornwall’s economy and Bermuda’s. Further, Cornwall is surrounded on 3 sides by water, and has wide swathes of open land, thus is at the forefront of Britains efforts towards energy independence with large wind and tidal projects established.”
“Additionally, as a part of a coalition government with the Conservative Party, our two parties have much they can learn from each other in this regard.”
“Our discussions touched on these synergies, as well as others including the Liberal Democrat push for the Alternative Voting system to replace the ‘first past the post’ (similar to Bermuda’s) system currently in place – recently voted on in a referendum in the UK.”
“The Liberal Democrats mix of policies (social and economic) are representative of the ideas that Kim Swan and Charlie Swan bring to the fore in the United Bermuda Party – shared ideals that can be mutually beneficial.”
“We look forward to developing this relationship further for the enhancement of Bermuda’s social and economic success,” said Mr Swan.

My great Auntie Milk-Clumbra from rond de way used 2 be an MP for UBP back n de day. 1 time de premeire wuz like “AY MILK-CLUMBRA, I need u 2 go up North Korea for a HOT minute n meet wif dis bredren Kim Il Sung…dats KEWL?” Milk-Clumbra was like “YA dun” (she dineen kno how mug north korea wuz so dats y she agreed). She told me that when she got off de plane in pyong yang guyz pointed pure gunz at her and were like “GIMME ALL YA MONEY N JEWELRY, DUN!” she wuz like “i thought dis was sposed 2 be a diplomatic meeting” n they were like “NAH, we just wunted 2 rob u cuz we heard guyz from bermy were rich” n she wuz like “fair enuff” so she gave them arrything she had (includin a broach that her great great great grandmother Rust-Sprinka had passed down 4 generations). When she got back bermy she went up 2 de premeire n wuz like “WHY U SENT ME THERE, DUN? GUYZ JUST ROBBED ME!” n de premeire wuz like “oh, my bad, i thought north korea was de boasty korea…i mixed it up wif de south.”
I guess wut um sayin is mr. swan shuld be careful, cuz dis dan rogerson guy might jus end up robbin him.

So the UBP MP Charlie Swan met with Dan Rogerson on Friday 24th June. Shouldn’t Mr.Swan be sitting in Parliament on Friday 24th with the other Bermuda MP’s. The MP’s earn a salary to represent the people of Bermuda and should make every effort to be here when Parliament is in session.
Check how many OBA members attend parliament on a regular basis. Either off island or on island but too busy to attend?
It’s the PLP that have blown every travel record!! Millions on their first class travel, champagne, limos, 5-star hotels…..only the best for them so they can attend one stupid “conference” after the other. What value have we ever gotten from that?? Mr & Mrs Bermuda need to make these people Redundant.
