Crime Stoppers To Launch New Campaign

August 26, 2011

Bermuda Crime Stoppers will launch their latest anti-crime campaign on Monday 29th August 2011, with media and radio commercials highlighting the need for the public to address the ‘gun problem’ that has affected our country over the last few years.

The “WE DON’T HAVE TO BURY OUR HEADS IN THE SAND” Campaign asks members of the public to come forward with any piece of information no matter how small, which relates to guns and persons who may have access to them. The message highlights the view of many people in the community who state, “the situation is too serious to ignore”.

This campaign has the support of the Bermuda Police Service and the Minister of National Security. The Concerned Business Community, who last year provided the $100,000 reward fund for information concerning ‘gun crimes’, has been instrumental in providing most of the funding for this campaign.

Coinciding with this campaign, Crime Stoppers will also be launching its annual fundraising appeal for financial support as a local charity from both the corporate and private sectors. Persons who wish to learn more about Crime Stoppers Bermuda should visit their website at www.crimestoppers.bm. The website highlights current and past crimes within the community, current and past promotional campaigns, and gives the public the opportunity to send anonymous tips electronically.

  4. Terry says:

Heads buried in the sand knowhere compares to the a*s sticking up and being screwed by the majority who don’t give a s*&t…….

  5. Emeka47 says:

You know, I looked at the headline, then the photo. I thought OMG this must be another way to hide guns and they are digging up the beaches from a ‘Tip they got!
Maybe the criminals come back later in the night to retrieve them and commit crime…….LOL…Then I read the story, but is my reasoning too far fetched?
Crime stoppers may have stumbles across more than an advert or poster sign ….
so if you see any more strange holes around BDA’s Beaches, it could be crimincal have finally been ‘beached washed” and running to retrieve their weapons ……. Oh, just one more thing, you just had to put one of those youth with their jeans below their butt and their ‘draws’showing….LMAO
    Proud to be a Bermudian
