Day #4: 2011 World Rugby Classic Results

November 12, 2011

The fourth day of the 2011 Bermuda World Rugby Classic took place last night [Nov.11] with Australia defeating South Africa 26 – 21 in the opening match of the night.

In the nightcap, Argentina came from behind to record a remarkable win at the National Sports Center. Canada took the lead in the first half when John Graff scored a Try, however minutes before the half time whistle Bernardo Stortoni equalized for Argentina.

With 9:30 remaining in the second half Canada went back in front when Ryan Bank scored a Try, however with only four minutes remaining on the clock Argentina drew level again when Santiago van de Ghote went airborne and scored a Try.

Just when it looked as if the game would be decided in overtime, Argentina scored a Try with only ten seconds remaining on the clock. Lucio Lopez scored the Try and then kicked the Conversion, immediately after the referee blew the final whistle. Argentina’s 17 – 10 win means they advance to the 2011 World Rugby Classic Final.

The gates open at 4:00pm today [Nov.12], with the Bermudian Barbarians taking on White Plains RFC at 5pm, the World Rugby Classic Plate Final [Classic Eagles vs. Australia] at 6pm, and the World Rugby Classic Final [Classic Lions vs. Classic Pumas] at 8pm.

  1. Triangle Drifter says:

With regards to transport to & from the field, are taxi drivers bycotting/on strike tonight?

9:30P: Dropped off sombody at the field & noticed that there must be over 100 people at the gate, facing out, in line waiting for taxis.

What gives? Taxi drivers are constantly moaning about how bad business is & here is a windfall for them & they are nowhere to be seen.

Never mind another embarassing breakdown of public transport for people who spend much needed currency here.

    • Fact! says:

Clearly the taxi drivers do not want our money – their actions by not being there to take money out of our hands speaks loud and clear: they don’t want our money! I simply will not be relying on taxis anymore. How’s that for speaking loudly and clearly right back to them?!

They can b*tch and moan all they want!
