Lewis Finishes 4th In 100m In Mexico

Bermuda’s Jessica Lewis made history when she became the first ever track and field athlete to represent Bermuda at a major para-sport Championships at the 2011 Parapan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Competing last night [Nov.16] Ms Lewis just missed out on claiming a medal by .03 of a second in the Women’s 100m when she finished 4th with a time of 20.78.

The 18-year-old lined up in Lane 7 and finished 1.39 seconds behind winner and Gold Medal winner Chelsea McClammer from USA who clocked 19.39. Sarah White from Canada finished 2nd with a time of 20.55, with Yadira Soturno from Venezuela finished 3rd with a time of 20.75.

Ms Lewis competes again today, lining up for the Women’s 200m T53 Final this afternoon.
