Nahki Wells Scores In Bradford Win
Bermuda’s Nahki Wells scored in the 88th minute to help propel his UK team Bradford City to a 4 – 0 win over Barnet this afternoon [Feb.28].
Bradford City’s live blog said, “Barnet initially showed some spirit after that double blow but Will Atkinson, who was on the pitch after an earlier injury to skipper Michael Flynn, put City firmly in the driving seat with his first goal in City colours after finishing off Kyel Reid’s cross.
“Reid then turned from provider to scorer in the second period when he finished off a forceful drive with a smashing finish into the far bottom corner.
“With the game now all but up subsitute Nahki Wells put the icing on the cake when he raced onto Rob Kozluk’s long ball forward before rounding Liam O’Brien and tapping home.”
In a recent interview, the the 21-year-old Bermudian striker said, “I look up to the likes of Shaun Goater and Kyle Lightbourne, who made it in England, and use their careers as an example to ignite mine.
“There are a lot of hungry, younger Bermudians who have seen me come over here. It’s all about the timing and the right move. People are always contacting me to see how things are going. They are behind me and hopeful that my career blossoms.
“I suppose I am considered as a role model. but I’m just trying to do the best for myself, my family and my country.”
