Exhibition On The Bermuda Railway Opens

May 23, 2012

To celebrate Heritage Month, Bermuda Archives and the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs, recently collaborated to organize an exhibition on the Bermuda Railway and its importance to the Tourism Industry.

A presentation was given by Mr. Simon Horn who is currently working on a new book on the Bermuda Railway and is the author of a website on the subject.

The talk took place at Number 6 Shed on Front Street in Hamilton and was then followed by a Bermuda Train Trolley Tour which followed the old train route from the W.E.R. Joell Tennis Stadium, through Front Street and on to the Trimingham Hill roundabout.

The trolley tour ended at Bermuda Archives where a new exhibit displaying various memorabilia of the Bermuda Railway is now on display.

The public is invited to view this exhibition which will run for the next several months. Mr. Horn would appreciate hearing from any member of the public who has information about the Bermuda Railway. He can be contacted via his website or through Bermuda Archives at 297-7737.

Great idea. But you know, who knows where the Bermuda archives are located? That would seem to be a problem in itself. I am guessing they are in the basement of Global House, but I will find out.
