Video: Mayho & Shillington Win Cycling Race
[Updated with full results/video] Teenage cycling sensation Dominique Mayho [pictured below] won the Sinclair Packwood Memorial Cycling Race this morning [May 24] crossing the line in 26:45, with Mark Hatherley in second finishing in 26:46, and Richard O’Connell in third with a time of 27:08.
Joanna Shillington [pictured below] — who only recently started competing in cycling — was the top female finishing in 33:20, beating second placer Nicole Mitchell by a split second for the title, with the pair practically crossing he line at the same time. Wenda Roberts rounded out the top three women, while the top Junior Male winner was Justin Ferreira, while the top Junior Female was Kamryn Minors.
The Bermuda Bicycle Association hosted the 26th annual May 24th bicycle race, which was originally called the Heritage Day Cycling Classic and renamed in 1998 following the passing of former champion Sinclair Packwood.

This year approximately 68 riders took part in the 11.9 mile sprint from Somerset to Hamilton, ending outside of the Leopard’s Club on Cedar Avenue. We will update with additional footage and full results as able, however in the meantime see our live blog for all the coverage from today.
