Friday: Deadline For Accounting Scholarship

July 24, 2012

The Department of Labour and Training is reminding individuals who wish to sign up for the Government’s Accounting Programme that the deadline for returning funding applications is this Friday, July 27th.

The public will recall that the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry partnered with the Bermuda College to offer a $500,000 Retraining Scholarship Fund to assist in:

  • Retraining Bermudians seeking employment in a particular professional designation; and
  • Retraining individuals who may already be employed but who lack the financial resources to pursue a specific professional designation in their field.

A Government spokesperson said: “The first courses being offered as part of the training scheme are in the Accounting field. Two weeks ago, (July 10 and 12) some 200 people attended a series of information sessions to find out more about the Accounting Training Programme.

“And today, the Department encouraged those who have yet to complete the funding application to please do so, and return the documentation to the Bermuda College’s Career and Counseling Services Office by this Friday (July 27).

“The retraining scholarship fund will cover CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant) and ACCA (Association of Certified Chartered Accountants) Certification Programmes. All courses will be offered via the Bermuda College’s Division of Professional and Career Education (PACE).

“For more information about the scholarship deadline or the courses interested individuals can call PACE at 236-9000 ext 4117 or email padmin@college.bm.”

Thanks for your comment, but as the only email in the article is the one provided by Government we are guessing you don’t mean that one? We are taking a guess you may mean you are seeing your email in the comment field?

If so that’s stored on your PC and isn’t visible to anyone on the site, just your PC. Depending on your PC’s settings, if one leaves a comment it will retain the info and show up next time you visit, same as most PCs will recall your Facebook login, email passwords etc.

You can clear the info off at your end by clearing your cache….but don’t worry no one else sees it but you, each person will see their own name and email…
