Woman In Critical Condition After Cycle Collision
[Updated with audio] Emergency service personnel responded to an accident shortly before 6.30pm tonight [Feb 24] on North Shore Road near Robinson’s Bay in Devonshire.
Unofficial reports indicate that a female motorcyclist was involved in the collision. Fire Service personnel tended to her, until an ambulance arrived and transported the rider to King Edward Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Details are limited at this time, however we will update with official information as able. Traffic is being diverted away from the scene while police investigate the accident.
Update 7.46pm: Police Media Manager Dwayne Caines confirmed a 30-year-old female motorcyclist was injured in the collision, and said she has received “serious head injuries”. An audio statement from Mr Caines is below
Update Feb 25, 11.57am: The police amended the victim’s age to 28, and said is in critical condition in the ICU. The full police statement follows below.
At last check the victim in Sunday night’s serious single vehicle motorcycle collision, now confirmed to be a 28 year old Smith’s parish woman, remains in critical condition at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
The collision occurred around 6:15pm Sunday, February 24th on North Shore Road in Devonshire near the junction with Barkers Hill.
Inquiries into this collision are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact PC Melesia Iris on 295-0011.

why is it every time people say speeding or drunk?? Just before christmas on that same road i too was thrown across the road where tha young lady had her accident< and no i was not drunk or speeding , but a gust a wind so strong blew me to the other side of the road,,lucky for me no one else was coming the other way..wish the young lady well and her family…
