British Airways Flights Cancelled For Wednesday

June 26, 2013

[Updated] Both the departing and arriving British Airways flights scheduled for today [June 26] have been cancelled due to a technical problem.

A local spokesperson said, “British Airways sincerely apologizes to customers due to travel today, as both BA2233 inbound and BA2232 outbound have been cancelled due to a technical problem. We are doing everything we can to make sure our customers get to London as quickly as possible. Customers can call 800 AIRWAYS or visit ba.com to rebook.”

Update: A spokesperson said, “British Airways is so very sorry for the inconvenience being caused for passengers. We are aware that BA flights have now become fully booked on Thursday, Friday and Saturday out of Bermuda. From Bermuda the first available flight to London will be on Sunday.

“We are trying to do the very best we can to get passengers to London. Throughout the day we have been exploring every possible avenue to reroute passengers through the United States or Canada.

“However as it is presently the peak season for travelling, flights are also full in those countries flying to the UK
and many flights out of Bermuda to the US East Coast or Toronto are fully booked. We remain fully committed to doing all we can to bring this to a quick resolution for our passengers.”

Bermudian reggae star Collie Buddz was due to depart Bermuda on tonight’s flight to perform at a concert in the Netherlands.

How safe is it to fly on BA to UK. Seems there are quite a few problems with the old aircraft. Safety comes first.

It is time for this Govt to find us a more reasonably priced and reliable airline. These canceled flights are disgraceful. .We should demand more modern aircraft. BA gets worse every year and their prices keep on rising .
