Digicel Business Provides Service For NSC
Digicel Business has welcomed the National Sports Centre [NSC] to its list of valued customers. NSC is the primary multisport venue in Bermuda featuring a brand new 50 meter swimming pool, full running track with athletics stadium, rugby, cricket and football pitches and a spectator’s pavilion.
With the existing communications system old and obsolete, and the development of the new aquatics centre, it became increasingly difficult for the different locations to work seamlessly and efficiently together.
The need for an updated communications system was compounded by NSC being selected as the core hosting venue for the Natwest Island Games in July 2013 and with flawless execution being absolutely critical to the success of the event.
Responding to the challenge, the Digicel Business Team designed and implemented the Avaya IP Office and Avaya Data solutions. NSC is now functional with a system that allows continuous communication between various locations for low cost and high level of service.
With the Digicel solution, NSC now has a converged network which provides it with a solid platform on which to build out its voice and fixed and wireless data services to improve collaboration, security, customer service – and network and services management. Flexibility and an ability to grow were key factors in the Digicel response.
NSC CEO, Bernie Asbell, said “The National Sports Centre has benefited from a highly reliable and cost-effective solution which has resulted in increased staff productivity, customer satisfaction and revenue generation. Through its innovative technology solutions, Digicel Business has kept us ahead of the game.”
According to Tom O’Neill, Business Solutions Director for Bermuda, “It was our pleasure to have partnered with NSC to modernise its communications systems, thus enabling positive changes to how it works and resulting in improved staff responsiveness and productivity.”
