Photos: Mad Hair Day Raises Money For PALS

September 27, 2013

[Updating] In an effort to raise money for improved cancer treatment on the island, Bermudians are today [Sept 27] taking part in the second annual PALS Mad Hair Day event, providing people the opportunity to donate $5 and wear their hair in a mad or crazy way for a day in the name of a worthy cause.

P.A.L.S. is a registered charity founded in 1980 to provide professional hands on care and support to cancer patients primarily in their own homes. The services of P.A.L.S. nurses are given free of charge and include pain and symptom control, counseling, dressing changes and whatever is needed in the care of each patient. They also supply, free of charge, an array of medical equipment including electric beds, wheelchairs, walkers etc.

As was the case last year, the event brought out some of the wackiest hairstyles, wigs, hats, and other accessories imaginable, making for a day of great fun, as the pictures below show.

Readers are invited to send in photos of any wacky hairstyles to info@bernews.com and we’ll add them to the slideshow below which features the students of St George’s Preparatory school, and you can view all our coverage of Mad Hair Day here.

The slideshow is being updated as the day progresses:

Update 2.37pm: A full photo set highlighting the students and staff of CedarBridge is here.

Update 4.27pm: A full set showing the staff of Axis Specialty is posted here.
