Update 4.13pm: Checking with the Bermuda Police about this case, a spokesperson said: “The Bermuda Police Service is aware and is collaborating with the authorities in Jamaica.”
Somebody snitched.
yup…ur right…prolly the ones that allegedly packaged it for them…and im surprised the cops didnt jus take da money and leave the weed…lol
These guys don’t learn. …thats what normally happens. …especially if the “reward” is greater….
A good taste of a REAL jail!
The worst thing a Bermudian can do is mess up their travelling rights. Smh. Oh well.
A lifetime on the stop list can’t even compare to one day in a jamaican lockup much less prison.
Name and shame!!
Are you calling for the same treatment for child molesters and all the companies who steal their employees deductions?
Mr. Officer ‘llow em fi di ganjjjjjjjaaaa!
Good!!! Now they are Jamaica’s problem!!! Hopefully they will be kept there along time so they can learn what doing “hard time ” really means!!!!
Droughts comin…
More peopel will be added to the list of pain i feel it coming.
Wow. Sorry to hear. There goes their Christmas. Christmas in Jamaica is Lovely but not like that.
Well At least they were caught in Jamaica so the penalty shouldn’t be too harsh. Jail in Jamaica. Feel sorry for them.
I guess they never watched the series “locked abroad”!
It is the PLP’s fault
Funnily enough, it is… Oh right, you guys prefer “the economy’s” fault.
Whaaaat!?!?!? Ganja is not legal is Jamaica? Well slap me and call me Susan.
WHAP!!! Fe@k off Susan!
What a joke huh..? “Major Ganja Bust”…i guess it was the biggest ganja movement Jamaicas had in a while…i mean with all the coke n heron that seems to move undetected…oh well…next!
Driver!!! Don’t stop at all, drop this Good Ganja round Independence Mall!!! Driver!!! Don’t even itch, collect the little food deah an come back quick, Driver! just remember the dam speed limit cause if you run into the FEDZ my friend that is IT!!!!

Wow,and to think they would have ripped us off charging $200 a quarter oz.No sympathy here!
Well would you like to be in their shoes now or pay the 200, the inflated cost is due to the risks involved, these guys are risking their lives every run.
Quarters are $200?!!! Are you effin serious
Book ‘em dreadie!!
someone send them some KY,they gonna need it !
What’s the exclamation point for? Do you think justifiable that someone is violated because they tried to ship plants from the same family as the hops plant used for beer? I guess not all sickos get put in prison.
Two less people bermuda taxpayers have to worry about……i bet you they wish they were at Westgate Resort correctional facility, because atleast this christmas they will be having all the trimmings….
Yeah, for now, we will see who is laughing when they come back broke, with a doctorate in criminality and a big chip on their shoulders, it may be you who is going to wish they had been in Westgate.
Looks like prices will shortly be going up….
Can someone clarify what the actual marijuana laws are in jamacia.
That simple, ITS ILLEGAL!!!
Yes it is, but when this crop is a major supporter of the countries economy, it’s openly sold & used on streets & at events people walk around selling it in wicker baskets full to the brim most would wonder about it’s legality. Also 200 lbs is really small time to anyone who knows about the quantity that is grown on the island. This seems to be more of a ganja tourist shakedown than anything else.
The laws against ganja in Jamaica are: an unjust, unnecessary, counterproductive, harmful, offensive, draconian, barbaric, hypocritical, baseless folly, just like here in Bermuda!!
thus the necessity for reform…the $ are too atractive to resist, even government is trying to formulate a plan to get a cut
Hmmmmmm, applying the countries laws, Im willing to bet that these guys get off. Key phrase in the story is, “a further search was conducted in nearby bushes where the police allegedly found “200 pounds of cured compressed ganja which was prepared for export.”
Of course my outcome is dependent upon whether finger prints, video footage, or actual line of sight was involved. Cash alone is not enought to convict these men as many Bermudians travel Jamaica with that amount of cash or more on them. IJS
