Police Defeat Renegades In Nichol Shield Final

The Bermuda Rugby Football Union’s Nichol Shield Final —  Bermuda’s Oldest Rugby Cup competition — took place at the Police Field this weekend.

In a very competitive hard fought game the Police forwards where able to nullify the heavy weight Renegades pack. The experience and aggressive attacking play of the Police back line secured them a historic victory 31 – 22.

The Police got two tries from Cobus Vermaak, while Dan Cole, Neville Zuill and Tommy Edwards all added a try each, while Darryn Gillespie kicked 3 Conversions.

Peter Dunkerley, Alex Donkervoet and Rich Cumbers all scored a try each for the Renegades, Cumbers added 1 Penalty and 2 Conversions.
