Mirrors Fundraising Run On Bermuda Day
Mirrors Alumni & Friends Association announced that several schools, businesses and volunteers will join Mirrors Programme Coordinator, Kimberley Jackson, during her fundraising run in the Annual Half-Marathon Derby.
Not a runner, Ms. Jackson, has been training both to accomplish her goal of crossing the finish line and completing the campaign to raise funds and public awareness of the importance of safeguarding youth in our community.
The Take a Stand for our Youth Campaign goal was to raise $600,000 to fund school-based after school activities and Mirrors Programming. Mirror Alumni & Friends hoped to raise the funds by having 5000 people show their support by contributing $120 each toward the campaign.
Dellwood Middle School and The Berkeley Institute students, BF&M employees, Victor Scott Primary School teachers, as well as past and current volunteers have signed on to participate in the race on Monday in support of the campaign.
They support Ms Jackson throughout the race and wear special campaign t-shirts as they make their way toward the finish line on Monday. In addition private sector corporations have supported in various ways such as grub days, denim days, tag days and matching pledges.
