Imagine Bermuda Hosts Principals For Meeting

May 24, 2014

Imagine Bermuda facilitated a session involving the Principals of the Senior & Middle Schools, from both the Public and Private Sector, on May 22nd at XL.

This was the second such luncheon/meeting, as the first was held on March 20, 2014 at ACE and continued the process of exploring collaboration amongst these key leaders in the Education of the Island’s young people.

During the session, participants were able to review a survey of Principals which we had conducted over the period since that first meeting. The survey’s results provided the data for prioritizing collaborative efforts going forward.

A spokesperson said, “A consensus was reached on some Big Picture Items and a commitment was made to do a more rigorous investigation into same, over the longer term.

“In addition, participants agreed that for the next School Year they will collaborate around the Professional Development of the various school staffs. Details of that plan will be ironed out at a follow-up session scheduled for June 17th.

“There was also a commitment to foster the social connections amongst the schools with the intention of strengthening the fabric of the wider community. We are looking to build on the success of the collaborative steps that were taken with the coordinated efforts throughout the Island’s schools, supporting “Bring Back Our Girls”.

“We would like to thank our partners XL and ACE for their support in this exploration of leveraging the potential of collaboration across the whole educational community in our Island home.”
