57 Year Old Man Charged With Sex Offences

September 26, 2014

A 57 year-old man appeared in Magistrates Court this morning [Sept 26] where he faced charges alleging sexual offences involving children.

The charges alleged that he touched a child for sexual purposes, invited a child to touch him, and intruded on the privacy of another child. The Court heard the children allegedly involved were under 12 years old, and this was alleged to have taken place on a beach on September 1st.

As the charges can only be heard in the Supreme Court, the defendant did not have to enter a plea.

The defendant, who cannot be legally named at this stage of the proceedings, was remanded into custody by Senior Magistrate Archie Warner.

Where is the premier/minister of national security on this? There appears to be an awful lot of this nastiness going on, with at least three alleged offenders over the last week! Our children need security, they should not have to deal wih this type of low life characters.
And what about this three time dui offender? Is this not a matter of national security too? This idiot driving around drunk, is putting peoples lives at risk, and gets a slap on the wrist.
I hope these alleged sexual offenders are dealt with more coarsely than that if convicted.

    • Raymond Ray says:

I agree the 3 time D.U.I. offenders case should be called back into the Courts. This individuals sentence is inappropriate…As far as the Premier / Minister of National Security goes I can’t see what nor where he could have altered what has already happened. It’s virtually impossible :-(

  2. Mr.Speaker says:

Time for a sex offenders Registry every week its someone new.

  3. filobedo21 says:

Well if all sexual offenders were named and charged the courts would be clogged. For the first poster don’t you even know that most offenders are relatives and close family members. What needs to happen if your family members shielding these perverts along with social workers who don’t do all they should in bringing this cases to the courts. This is an age old problem, spanning years and years, from all stations of life, rich and poor. The questions is how do we educate potential victims and victims to come forward and tell.

  4. Disgusted says:

There are too many inconsistencies with bail. The school teacher gets bail $25k and the 57 year old is on remand. What happens to the kids affected and possibly scarred for life. what is the ministry doing about references. Is SCARS involved in training the teachers and PTA on detecting and dealing with these situations.
