Premier, Senator Visit Police Recruit Course
Earlier today [Sept 3] the Premier Michael Dunkley was joined by Junior Minister for National Security Jeff Baron as he visited Police Training School where Recruit Foundation Course No. 76 was taking place.
The Premier said, “This Course is slated to produce 25 new officers for the Bermuda Police Service and by all accounts they are committed to serving the community and understand the importance of policing to the quality of life we enjoy in Bermuda.
“This is a high-quality group of men and women and I was pleased to have the opportunity to welcome them into public service on behalf of the Government and people of Bermuda.”
Sen. Baron, himself a former police officer and instructor on previous Courses also addressed the officers and encouraged them to be mindful of the onerous responsibilities of serving as police officers.
Premier Dunkley concluded, “I look forward to congratulating these officers on 11th September when their families and friends will have the chance to celebrate their achievements during what has been a challenging but rewarding recruit course.”
Baron, keep your hands out of your pockets!
Agreed, especially on occasions such as this!
At what point does he say this is a waste of F!@#ing time.
I’ll bet the recruits appreciated the visit from the Premier. A pleasant change from those who would not belittle themselves to meet mere recruits.
I bet Senator Baron gave them some police tactics tips since he recently had to use his!
Baron used to be a police officer and trainer.
J Baron has become quite a Bodyguard. Or so it appears lately
I thought that we already had too many government employees, how is the bps still hiring?
Congrats to all the new recruits.
Premier Dunkley,it is wonderful to see our country’s leader taking interest in our men and women in the Police Service. With crime being addressed our police service needs and appreciates as much support as possible!
