Devonshire Recreation Club Celebrates 70 Years
The Devonshire Recreation Club [DRC] will be celebrating 70 years of existence from August 21 through 25, with a number of anniversary activities to be held in the lower hall.
On Friday, August 21, those activities will include Studio One’s Huntie Diamond and Prophecy’s Big Mon Lafi, a happy hour serving two drinks for $7, and an old school dance, with a $7 entry fee.
Saturday 22, August will see indoor and outdoor games with prizes to be won, anniversary bingo with a $1,070 jackpot, $170 games, and $70 games, a special $7 raffle, musical entertainment until 1.00am, and a membership drive.
On Sunday, August 23, the membership drive will continue, with a church service at Christ Anglican Church and a cricket game between DRC and the Pembroke Hamilton Club to take place, as well.
Monday, August 24 will see Youth Football Registration, a history night, a $7 potluck dinner, a DVD viewing featuring Ellsworth Christopher, Dttiwell Simmons, and Paula Cox at 6.30pm, and a Q&A session and story-telling at 8.00pm.
