Court: 54-Year-Old Man Admits Stealing Tools
Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [Jan 26], a 54-year-old man was given probation after admitted stealing tools from Sears.
Anthony Outerbridge pleaded guilty to stealing a set of tools from the Sears store on Victoria Street on 6th February 2015. He was sentenced to 12 months probation and ordered to make restitution, through the Court, to the store owners.
The Crown Prosecutor told Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo that the store’s CCTV had recorded Mr Outerbridge putting the tool set under his jacket and walking out of the store without making any attempt to pay for the tool set.
When later arrested by and questioned by police, Mr Outerbridge admitted stealing the tools. The tools were not recovered.
Asked if he had anything to say, Mr Outerbridge said; “I take responsibility for my actions. I have been obedient to my Probation.” Asked if he was working, Mr Outerbridge said that he was working but did not want to publicly name his employer.
