Sunday May 29th: “Good News” Spotlight

Thousands of people elebrating Bermuda Day, local athlete Yushae DeSilva-Andrade being allocated a spot in the 2016 Rio Paralympics, and Bermuda cinematographer Kerri Seymour winning an award for ‘Best Local Film’ at the Toronto Short Film Festival were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.

In other good news, the Reading Clinic reported another year of “significant progress” among students enrolled in its Core Reading Programme, local businesses earned Trip Advisor Certificates of Excellence, Bermudian student-athlete Leah Smith was honoured at the IMG Commitment Ceremony, and Essence featured Bermudian Amir X.

We also posted various community photo galleries, including coverage of the National Swimming Championships, Wednesday Night Sailing, the Bermuda Day Half Marathon and Bermuda Day Parade, Heron Bay Heritage celebrations, the Bermuda Day Junior Classic Race, the Sinclair Packwood Memorial Race, the African Fashion Extravaganza, and a 5K Charity Walk.
