Court: 33-Year-Old Man Denies Assaulting Police

August 17, 2016

Appearing in Magistrates Court, a 33-year-old Jamaican national denied charges alleging he assaulted police officers and tried to pervert the course of justice.

Omar Davy pleaded not guilty to the charges arising out of an alleged police intervention on 4th August 2016 .

He pleaded not guilty to assaulting two police officers and to seeking to pervert the course of justice by giving a false name to police.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo granted Davy $10,000 bail with a surety, ordered him to give the police a local address and then stay at that address and not change address without the permission of police.

The Magistrate also ordered Davy to surrender his travel documents, not leave Bermuda without the Court’s permission, and report twice weekly to Hamilton Police Station.

Davy’s trial was set for October.
