Commission of Inquiry Bermuda TC September 27 2016

“The Commission also wishes to advise that subsequent to the Government press conference and statement last Friday [September 23, 2016], Government has now followed proper procedure which the Commission established for those who wish to make objection to any matter which the Commission proposes to examine as part of its inquiry.

“Written objections to the inclusion of the airport were received yesterday [Monday, September 26, 2016] from the Attorney General’s Chambers on behalf of the Government. In accordance with our published rules, the Commission must deliberate on those objections and proposes to make a decision shortly.

“Because the issue has been raised publicly, the Commission also wishes to state publicly that no undertaking was ever given to the Government that we would not inquire into the airport project.”

Commission, what is wrong with you? Don’t you understand your job? Your job is to find dirt on the PLP and ignore potential misdeeds of the present Govt.

Investigate the non-tendered contracts awarded by the PLP….but ignore the biggest non-tendered contract, is this country’s history, awarded by this Govt.

    This situation is a joke.

I highly recomend this commission investigate the airport project and put the unanswered questions to bed once and for all. I hope that once the report comes back it shows that this government has undertaken a project of this magnitude that is honest and the best thing for for Bermuda. However, I’m not sure that will ever help silence the opposition, but let’s hope just the same.
