Court: 40-Year-Old Man Admits Stalking Woman

September 7, 2016

Appearing in Magistrates Court, a 40-year-old man admitted stalking a woman and was granted bail, with his sentencing set for October.

Damon DeRoza admitted that he had stalked a woman, and Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo heard from the Duty Counsel that DeRoza had mental health issues and the Crown Prosecutor told the Magistrate that DeRoza was currently on parole.

The Magistrate ordered Social Inquiry and Psychological reports and set sentencing for late October. He granted bail at $5,000 with one surety and ordered that DeRoza stay at least 300 yards away from the woman’s home and workplace, and have no contact with her.

He also ordered DeRoza to attend Mental Health Court.
