Caroline Bay Marina Invites Superyacht Inquiries
The planned Caroline Bay Marina at the Morgan’s Point Development will accommodate some 23 superyachts in excess of 200 feet, a half dozen more 100 footers and another dozen smaller yachts, the company said.
“This will be the configuration for the 35th America’s Cup events in May and June 2017. While the marina will be open in March of 2017, other elements of the Caroline Bay Resort will not be completed until 2018,” a statement said.
“Caroline Bay Marina is located on the peninsula which bisects the Little Sound and Great Sound in Bermuda. The America’s Cup course is located in the Great Sound and the Red Bull Series course is in the Little Sound.
“The Marina is in close proximity to the main staging area in Dockyard and will offer a range of experiences and services for guest yachts and superyachts visiting during the America’s Cup events.
“Expression of interest in berthing superyachts or berthing smaller vessels at Caroline Bay Marina are now being accepted on the marina website.”
Rendering of the planned resort:
Marina CEO Ralph Richardson invites anyone interested to fill out the inquiry form on the website.
“Caroline Bay Marina will offer VIP exclusive opportunities for our clients to watch America’s Cup races aboard our very own VIP Spectator Boat, which will be positioned on the race course,” he said. “Marina Services will include Bermuda entry assistance, water, fuel, sewage pump out, trash disposal and concierge services.”
Morgan’s Point President & CEO Craig Christensen said, “The total Morgan’s Point development is the largest and most exciting residential, resort and recreational project for Bermuda in the last 20 years.”
“When the resort project is completed in 2018, we will have an exclusive Ritz-Carlton Reserve Resort, over 100 branded residences, several restaurants, a world class spa and luxury boutiques and the Caroline Bay Marina to top it off.”
“The marina is under construction now. When it is completed next year, in time for the 2017 America’s Cup, it will double the superyacht berthing capacity for all of Bermuda. The Caroline Bay development featuring the superyacht marina will be the keystone for the future of international yachting for Bermuda.”
America’s Cup challenger Artemis Racing now has its team headquarters and training center at Morgan’s Point, meaning those aboard their vessels in the new marina will have a ringside seat for training and race-day activities as the Swedish team prepares for the cup.
