A trip in July 2016 by Minister of Home Affairs Patricia Gordon-Pamplin to Rio for Olympics cost $6312.09, according to a recent listing on the Government’s travel webpage.
The trip duration was listed as from Saturday, July 30, 2016 – Tuesday, August 16, 2016, and the web page listing said, “Prior to the reassignment of Cabinet portfolios, the then Ministry of Community Culture and Sports paid for my air fare and hotel accommodations to attend the 2016 Rio Olympics, as they had been booked on a non-refundable basis when I was the Minister responsible for sports.
“All other costs which included meals, ground transportation and event tickets were funded by me.”
