Man Injured In Rental Cycle Crash In Somerset

Emergency services responded to a collision on Somerset Road this evening [June 12] where a man was injured in a cycle crash. Traffic was diverted away from the area as police processed the crash scene.

Police Media Relations Manager Robin Simmons said, “Around 7:40pm Monday, June 12th police and first responders were dispatched to a reported single vehicle rental cycle crash on Somerset Road in Sandys parish, near the junction with Cambridge Road.

“It appears that the rental cycle rider, believed to be a 26 year old male guest worker, struck a wall.

“He was transported via ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries and an update on his condition will be provided in due course.

“The scene was processed by the relevant police personnel and inquiries continue.

“Any witnesses that have not already come forward are asked to contact the main police telephone number 295-0011.”
