P.A.L.S. To Host Mad Hair Day On Sept 22nd
P.A.L.S. will be holding its 6TH Annual Mad Hair Day fundraising event on Friday [Sept 22], with people invited to help raise money by donating $5.00 [adults] and $2.00 [schools], and wearing their hair in a crazy way for the day.
A spokesperson said, “Schools, businesses, clubs, organisations and friends are invited to join the fun by donating $5.00 [adults] and $2.00 [schools] to wear their hair in a Mad or Crazy way for the day.
“Each participant donating will receive a commemorative badge. Some of the suggestions are to wear wigs, funny hats, or scarves, big ties and funky glasses, crazy hair creations and designs or big ribbons and head bands; in fact anything that would be considered wacky or wild. Those of you not wishing to join the “MAD HAIR DAY” may still receive a commemorative badge by holding a denim day or by donating $ 5.00.
“In order to participate in the prize giving contest you must register your company or group by faxing the registration form to 236-7250 or emailing info@pals.bm. For further information, please call calling 236-7257.
“This year P.A.L.S. are offering prizes for the following categories.
Adults:
- Best Corporate Group
- Best Themed Group [non-corporate group]
- Special Prize for the Corporate or Non-Corporate Group that raises the most funds. [Funds must be received by 6th October 2017.]
Schools:
- Best Class Photo
- Best Themed Group [non- class related – Group of friends]
- Special Prize for the Class/Homeroom that raises the most funds. [Funds must be received by 6th October 2017.]
“All Winners will be notified by the 13th October 2017.
“If you cannot participate during the day, please stop by and join us at the Doghouse Restaurant on Front Street between 6:30PM and 11:30PM. P.A.L.S. will have a photo booth for a $10 donation you will get 2 photos and a bracelet. There will be lots of accessories to highlight your photo and evening. You can also enter the prize giving contest by registering your group with us at the photo booth for an additional $5 per person.

“P.A.L.S. is a registered charity founded in 1980 to provide specialised hands on care and support to cancer patients primarily in their own homes. P.A.L.S. provides the following services free of charge to cancer patients and their families:
- Nursing assessment and treatment such as pain and symptom management
- Psychosocial support – counseling and bereavement support
- Loan of medical equipment – hospital beds, wheel chairs etc.
- Free or at cost medical supplies
- Free or at cost food supplements such as Ensure drinks
- Assistance with overseas medical travel
- Assistance with medication costs
