Berkeley Alumni & Current Students’ Art Show

March 15, 2018

In celebration of the 120th anniversary of the Berkeley Institute, the Berkeley Educational Society is inviting the public to the Alumni and Current Students’ Art Show.

The show officially opens on Friday, April 13 at 6.00pm with a silent auction of work by some of the exhibitors, and will continue until Saturday, April 21 at 6.00pm. Proceeds from the silent auction will benefit the school.

A spokesperson said, “This art show includes many alumni who were taught by the school’s first Bermudian and most prominent art teacher, Mr. Charles Lloyd Tucker, whose artwork will also be highlighted. During the school’s centenary celebrations in 1997, a commemorative calendar was produced featuring nine of Bermuda’s outstanding artists who were Berkeley alumni.

“You will see original work by some of those artists and additional artists as well.

“Today, the tradition of excellence in the Performing and Visual Arts at The Berkeley Institute continues with a complement of dedicated teachers and many gifted students.

Hmmmmmm…I wonder what ever happened to my picture of a view looking out of a window drawn with all lines that was displayed in the old Berkeley assembly hall?

That should be worth more than a Van Gogh by now…smiles
