The island is experiencing high winds and rough seas yet again today [March 5] as a deep low passes, bringing cold and windy weather with it.
The latest forecast from the BWS said, “Gale force winds soon increase to storm force and carry into the night as a deep low passes by. Light off-and-on showers become more organized and heavy later on this evening with a risk of thunder and wind gusts reaching hurricane force at times.
“Be advised the highest winds and high tide coincide tonight lending to a possible 1-2 foot storm surge in some locations. Conditions downgrade to gale force Tuesday morning with passing light showers, then improving going forward into Wednesday.

While the weather has caused some power outages and the suspension of ferry services, most services are not affected, with Government Offices, the Causeway and schools remaining open.
