Breast & Ovarian Cancer Conference In June

William Keegan, President and CEO, of Innovative Medical Conferences, has confirmed that the second ‘The Pink & Teal Conference on Breast and Ovarian Cancer’ will be three times larger than Innovative Medical Conferences’s [IMC] original 2013 visit to Bermuda, with the conference to be held at Fairmont Southampton on June 14 and 15.

A spokesperson said, “The conference speakers and attendees will be a who’s who of medical specialists in the treatment and prevention of breast and ovarian cancer. Bill Keegan has informed Bernews that guest invitations have been extended to the Bermuda College of Nursing as well as the doctors and medical staff at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

“IMC is committed to again offering free attendance to Bermuda’s medical and nursing community. Those in attendance will be able to listen to and interact with some of the finest medical specialists in cancer care.” In addition, Bermuda’s invited guests will also gain Continual Medical Credits [CME] required by their profession.”

“In 2013, Innovative Medical Conferences.com produced a public forum at Hamilton City Hall where hundreds of Bermuda women, struggling with breast and ovarian cancer, were able to listen to a panel of seven doctors from Harvard, Sloan Kettering, Weill Cornell, NYU Langone and North Shore LIJ to discuss the latest breakthroughs in the treatment and prevention of cancer.

“The doctors also answered questions from the audience. IMC’s Pink and Teal Public Forum was reported as the finest public health forum ever produced in Bermuda. William Keegan together with Dr. Francis Arena and the visiting doctors were presented with the Bermuda International Citizenship Award. It was the first time the Office of the Premier ever issued such an award.

“Dr. Francis Arena, conference moderator, played a major role in recruiting Dr. Franco Muggia as IMC’s Keynote Speaker for the 2nd Pink & Teal Conference and Public Forum. Dr. Muggia is one of the pioneers in the use of chemotherapy and radiation in the treatment of cancer. He is world a renowned speaker on cancer and will play a major role in the June conference.
